Retro t-shirts built around the design language of the 70s, 80s and 90s: bold blocky type, sun-faded colour palettes, halftone dots, chrome and airbrush effects and the kind of composition you remember from cereal boxes and VHS covers. Every design is drawn from scratch by Lonely Kids Club or one of the independent artists we collaborate with, then printed to order in our Sydney studio on AS Colour cotton.
These are new tees that look old on purpose. If you want actual references to the shows, snacks and toys you grew up with, that is our Nostalgia T Shirts range. If you want the old-school gaming angle, see Retro Gamer. This page is about the aesthetic: vintage-style graphic tees that go with denim, corduroy and a pair of sunglasses you should not have bought.
Regular fit on 180 GSM combed cotton, oversized on heavier 220 GSM, plus crop and long sleeve options, all unisex from XS to 5XL. Water based OEKO-TEX certified inks sit in the fabric rather than on top of it, so the print softens with the tee instead of cracking. A portion of profits goes to the charities we support.
Fashion like most things is cyclical, and styles get revived, re-imagined and given new context over time. With this in mind, we have a full collection of old school aesthetics that is as timeless now as it will be in twenty years. Plus we love the retro vibe. Nostalgia is one of the most powerful feelings that we unfortunately feel more and more the older we get. Do rather than resenting this feeling, it can be rewarding to instead embrace it, wear it, and reminisce about fun times. You can even wear them when creating new fun times. We work with the classic 80’s aesthetic on most of our Retro Prints such as bold bright colours, contrasting fonts and juxtaposed photos of celebrities. A celebration of all things old school cool, we have a curated selection of retro prints so there’s something for every retro tee lover. Our retro range is always updating so have a browse and snap something up while you can!
The design language: bold blocky type, sun faded colour palettes, halftone dots, chrome and airbrush effects and the compositions you remember from cereal boxes and VHS covers. Our retro tees are new designs drawn in those styles by Lonely Kids Club and the independent artists we collaborate with.
No. They are brand new tees printed to order in Sydney that look old on purpose. If you want references to the shows, snacks and toys you grew up with, that is our nostalgia collection. This page is about the retro aesthetic itself.
Vintage usually means an actual old garment. Retro means a new piece designed in an older style. Everything here is retro: fresh cotton, fresh print, 70s to 90s design cues.
In our Sydney studio, to order, on AS Colour blanks, using water based OEKO-TEX certified inks. Nothing is printed overseas and nothing sits in a warehouse.
Regular fit on 180 GSM combed cotton, oversized on heavier 220 GSM, plus crop and long sleeve options, all unisex from XS to 5XL.
Some retro designs are also available on 290 GSM hoodies and jumpers, caps and tote bags. The product page for each design lists every format it comes in.
The faded look is part of the artwork, not wear. Water based inks sit in the fabric rather than on top of it, so the print softens with the tee instead of cracking. Wash cold, inside out, and skip the dryer.
Every tee is printed after you order it, so allow the dispatch estimate on the product page plus postage. Australian orders over $85 ship free, and Sydney locals can pick up from our studio in Artarmon.
