The best hoodie for you depends on what you wear it for: a regular pullover for everyday use, a roomier layer, a graphic you want to keep wearing or a gift featuring someone’s actual pet. Start with those decisions before choosing a size label.
We run Lonely Kids Club, an independent brand based in Sydney, and print our artwork to order in our studio. This guide uses hoodies from our own range to explain what to compare. It is a guide to our garments and designs, rather than a tested ranking of every Australian hoodie brand.
Graphic hoodies in Australia: four designs to compare
Choose the artwork and garment together. Not every design has the same fit options, and the product details are not identical across the range. The fabric column below refers specifically to the Regular garment described on each current listing; check the details for the version you select.

Regular or Oversized Hoodie: choose the shape first
Our hoodie fit guide describes Regular as a relaxed, midweight pullover with a kangaroo pouch. Oversized has a wider, relaxed body and a heavier feel, also with a kangaroo pouch. The Oversized details specify a hood without a drawstring. Both have their own size charts and fit photos.
Buying a larger Regular hoodie and choosing an Oversized cut are different decisions. Extra size changes several measurements together; a different cut changes the proportions. Check shoulder and body room as well as the hem position. If you want to wear another layer underneath, compare a hoodie that already gives you that amount of room.
The same size label can mean a different garment
For example, the current size guides list these measurements for M. They are the width of the garment laid flat and its shoulder-to-hem length, in centimetres, rather than measurements around your body.

That example has more width in Oversized without extra length. The charts note possible variations of up to 2.5 cm, so use the figures as a guide, not a precision fit guarantee. Check the full chart for the actual size you are considering rather than transferring the M example to another size.
How to measure before ordering
Lay a hoodie you enjoy wearing on a flat surface, smooth it without stretching it, and measure across the body and from shoulder to hem. Compare both numbers with the chart for your chosen cut. A T-shirt size, body circumference or size from another brand is not a substitute for that garment comparison. Our measurement guide explains the same method with the relevant charts.
What GSM should a good hoodie be?
GSM means grams per square metre and describes fabric weight. A higher number can help you compare weight, but it does not tell you the whole story about comfort, shape, construction or the quality of an illustration. Think about when you will actually wear the hoodie and how much layering you want.
Our current featured Regular listings include both 290 GSM and 350 GSM cotton/polyester fleece. The Newscorpse and Dungeon Meowster descriptions list 350 GSM; Badly Drawn Pet and Capybara Yin Yang list 290 GSM for their Regular garments. There is not one fabric-weight number that accurately describes every LKC hoodie. Read the details for the selected product and fit.
Also check the fabric blend, cuffs, hood and pocket layout. The Regular descriptions above list 80% cotton and 20% polyester anti-pill fleece, but those details should not be carried over to a different blank without checking. A heavyweight pullover is a useful choice when you want that feel; it is not automatically the best choice for every person or day.
Choose a hoodie graphic you will actually wear
Newscorpse: a media-politics reference
The Newscorpse Hoodie is part of our Michael West collaboration, with artwork by Claire Harrison. Pick it for someone who would enjoy wearing the media reference, then choose between the available Regular and Oversized cuts. The current listing has several colour options, so look at the chosen colour’s mockup instead of relying only on the first image.
Dungeon Meowster: for cats and tabletop games
DM stands for Dungeon Meowster. This cat-and-gaming hoodie uses my artwork and currently offers Regular Hoodie as its fit option. Choose it when the recipient will recognise the reference and wants a pullover. The fit is worth checking before falling in love with the drawing: this listing does not offer the same set of cuts as Newscorpse.
Badly Drawn Pet: their particular little creature
The Badly Drawn Pet Hoodie starts with one clear photo of one pet. Our in-house illustrators draw a deliberately wonky portrait and we print it on the hoodie you choose. A high-resolution smartphone photo is fine. Pick an image in which the pet is easy to see, rather than a tiny crop or a group photo with several animals.
No artwork preview is sent before printing. Choose this because you like the Badly Drawn style and the surprise, rather than expecting a realistic portrait or an approval stage. The listing offers Regular and Oversized Hoodie cuts, and custom illustration takes extra time before dispatch. For more than one pet, order separate items and upload one photo per item.
Capybara Yin Yang: the same quiet drawing on a warmer layer
Capybara Yin Yang Hoodie uses Popcorn Punk’s circular light-and-dark capybara illustration. It is a useful option for someone who likes animal artwork without a large block of wording. Buying a hoodie as a gift
First ask whether they actually wear pullovers. A great drawing on a garment they never reach for is a harder gift to get right. Then find out whether they prefer a regular or roomier shape, and compare a hoodie they already wear. If the gift is a surprise, getting those measurements quietly is more useful than guessing from their tee size.
Choose the available fit, colour and size on the actual product page. The general fit guides list XS–5XL for these hoodie cuts, but colours and available combinations vary by design. Check the current price of that selection too. A custom pet portrait adds the photo and illustration decisions to the clothing-size decision.
Our current production and shipping information separates preparation time from postage. Current guidance says ready items ship within seven business days, while custom work is closer to two weeks before dispatch. Australian Standard delivery generally takes 2–7 business days after production; Express generally takes 1–3. These are estimates, and your deadline and destination still matter. An order is sent together when every item is ready.
For a close birthday or Christmas deadline, check the current guidance and email our team before ordering. Read the returns policy for eligible items, original-condition requirements and exceptions. If you have no reliable size information, a gift card lets them make the garment choice themselves.
How to care for a graphic hoodie
Follow the label for the chosen garment’s washing and drying instructions. Turn a printed hoodie inside out for washing and keep an iron away from the artwork. Check the label before using a tumble dryer. Preshrunk fabric is intended to minimise shrinkage, rather than promise no change under every washing condition. Caring for the blank and the print together is more useful than assuming the graphic makes no difference.

Questions about buying graphic hoodies
What are the best hoodies in Australia?
There is no single best garment for every use. Compare the shape, measurements, fabric details and artwork, then check who prints it and the delivery timing. The four LKC designs above show how those choices differ within one range.
Is an Oversized Hoodie just a larger Regular Hoodie?
No. Our current M examples show a 55 cm flat width and 74 cm length in Regular, compared with 60 cm and 73 cm in Oversized. They have different proportions. Use the chart for the cut and size you select.
Are all LKC hoodies 430 GSM?
No. The current Regular listings featured here specify 290 GSM or 350 GSM, depending on the garment. Check the selected product and fit instead of applying one fabric-weight figure to the whole range.
Do all these graphics come in an Oversized Hoodie?
Newscorpse, Badly Drawn Pet and Capybara Yin Yang currently offer that option. Dungeon Meowster currently lists Regular Hoodie only. Browse the oversized hoodies and jumpers collection and check the actual options for each design.
Can I put more than one pet on a custom hoodie?
The current Badly Drawn Pet Hoodie is one pet per item, using one uploaded image. For several pets, order separate items. No artwork preview is sent, and illustration adds production time.
Are these hoodie sizes suitable for children?
The featured garments use adult Regular or Oversized fits. If buying for a younger person, compare their existing hoodie with the actual garment measurements. An XS label alone does not establish that the length or proportions will work.
