2024 Wrapped

Welcome to 2024 Wrapped, Lonely Kids Club style. Similar concept, but instead of Top Played Songs we have Top Selling Tees. It's also a bit different to Spotify in that we actually pay the artists we work with. Anyhow this was the year the birds! Due largely to Bridget Farmer, who joined earlier this year. Bird T shirts were flying off the shelves wings and all, and many were our top selling tees dropped this year. On that note, the biggest selling product we  dropped in 2024 was actually the Badly Drawn Pet T-Shirt.

Full props on that (As well as appreciation) goes to Claire who has drawn Over 300 pets in a pretty short amount of time, and that's just for Tees. we also do totes and hoodies so its probably closer to 600 original drawings. I think the appeal of that product is that you have a talented artist doing a personalised drawing in a time where everyone else is trying to automate as much as possible, and remove human involvement. We are going the opposite direction of trying to keep things more personal and human (Fuck AI). So as well as printing on order, 2024 saw us also drawing on order based on your pets.

When we started the year we wanted to focus on coming up with designs that really resonated with people, and also challenged ourselves to expand and try new styles of design. Up until this year nearly all my stuff was just scribbly drawings. It was hard trying to get deeper into public domain lurking, editing & general typography, but one particular design I did called the Great Tits Tee really landed with our audience and that was a really special feeling for me because I've never really felt like I had great tits. I've got decent calves though. It runs in my family. I don't think anyone else in my fam runs though.

This was also the year we got some incredible new collaborators joining the fam including Purple Pingers, Crackermilk and HimawariKeep among many others. Purple Pingers in particular was a bit wild in how it came together. His merch company collapsed owing lots of orders and people commented on the social media posts telling him to talk to me. We ended up chatting and the rest was history. We got his merch back online, printed and shipped out all the stuff that people were owed from the previous supplier, and we've now illustrated over ten original designs for him.

Finishing the year, I'm really proud of how the commuity around the brand has grown, it was a lot of fun doing multiple Design Your Own T-shirt events for the LKCC FB Group, and it's been cool finally setting up Facebook Chats for the group. I've had some very fun / memorable moments in there, and we will always be the brand that you can talk to directly. Look forward to seeing you in the new year.
