LKC Back To School & MENTAL HEALTH POSITIVE – This product promotes positive messaging around mental health.
I did a construction degree for around four years before dropping out. I stayed in the course because I thought university was meant to be a continuation of school. Something that made me sad, anxious, and left me feeling isolated. With that in mind we wanted to create a campus tee t-shirt which showed how studying can and should be.
Winston is the sloth character based on myself so based on my experiences we gave him a book called “How To Chill” and added the slogan “It’s okay to have fun” because university life should be fun. He also has his trademark smile. This is the tee I really wish I had when I was studying construction, but now that I’m passed that I hope it can help others in a similar situation.
For anyone struggling out there studying a degree or certificate, please consider talking to your local counsellor at your campus. They’re there to help and it’s a free provided service.
To give this print a real pop, we screen printed watercolour inks and played around with mixing the colours to give it a uniquely bright and vintage vibe with faded pink and a blue tinged green. This contrasts really nicely with the black inks used. This design is also a continuation on the vintage animation style we experimented with on our “Sloth Head” tee.
Each tee is screen pulled by hand here in Sydney on our 100% cotton ethically sourced ultra comfy tees.
Travis is 6 foot and wearing size L oversized. We somehow forgot to shoot Ruby wearing this one in the product photos. Sorry fam – was such a stressful few days of shooting.

We do not mass-produce our garments. All our clothing is only ever produced in limited quantities. When you wear one of our goods you know you’re one of the few who will ever get the opportunity to do so and there is something special about that. It allows the clothing to feel more personal and more of a statement .
Here at Lonely Kids Club we believe in fair, ethical production. We don’t think people need to be exploited to create clothing. We do not use sweatshop labour in any part of the production process. We have all factories we work with inspected, and make sure all workers are being paid fairly and working in a clean, safe work environment. We produce all our goods from scratch, so we are able to monitor the production process from fabric printing all the way to finished product. This allows us to make sure the entire process is done ethically. We personally believe this makes the clothes feel better for the buyer, and this also leads to better quality goods.
