Final Boutique Days

Wow what a crazy week. First of all thank you so much to everyone for all your kind words and support about the whole robbery thing. I read every comment / message about it and really appreciate it. Moving on, I’d like to give a huge shout out to everyone who’s come and hung out at the boutique in my time there. It’s made it so much fun. I finish up this week so if you haven’t had a chance yet do drop by. I’ve gotten so unfit being there. Sitting in the confined space for 8 hours a day then coming home and lying in bed watching things on my laptop (or as I call it – “evening plans”) isn’t quite an “active lifestyle”. I noticed I’m sighing all the time (Not just from being empathetic) so I’ve decided it’s probably best that it’s coming to an end.  Also I should probably start going to uni classes rather than just not worrying about it which is my current strategy. Big news coming up about the winter range soon though, so stick around.

P Plates

I was thinking about the P plate driving tests the other day. Mine were a fucking joke. My parents never wanted to bother driving with me so paid for me to get a driving instructor who turned out to be a senile nutjob and then my mother just forged the rest of the hours. I think I did about 30 hours in the end. My instructor was such a weirdo. He told me you aren’t allowed to look at the road or behind you while you reverse park, and if you do you will fail in the test so to be careful. He would also point out every overweight girl he noticed while I was driving and would say things like “Look at them! Look how fat they are! Imagine how they will look when they’re older!” and frankly I was just trying to focus on the road because that was about all he would talk about so I had no real idea how to drive. I went on to fail the test as my reverse park was terrible as I was convinced I wasn’t allowed to look. Eventually I got a new instructor who was sane and after 3 lessons passed the test the second time. I safely went on to not have an accident for about 2 years. Then I had 2 in the space of a year and nearly died on the last one. My bad.

Boutique Fun Times Part 2

Boutique Fun Times Part 2

So I’ve had some pretty solid situations at the boutique so far.  A woman in her 50s came in repeatedly asking where the “Club Kids” were but I literally could not understand what she was saying (this went on for a while) until she eventually took me out of the store and showed me the sign. I had to rectify that it said “kids club” and she somehow managed to jumble full words. She then started laughing aggressively and proceeded to walk down the street still laughing loudly. She was wearing a pretty crazy jumpsuit. Also at one point some dude came into the boutique, asked if I was Warwick, smiled when I replied yes, then walked out. It was a strange moment. In other non-related news after 3 months Summer Sundays has been a lot of fun but I think I want to start mixing it up again so next week I’ll feature three different pocket tees that I’ve been saving for such an occasion. After that it will remain running but a new item will be coming out next week. I’ll drop a few hints soon, keep your eyes peeled.

Boutique Fun Times

So I’ve been running the boutique for a few days now and suffice to say it seems very different from my previous retail jobs / experiences. For one thing, I can use my laptop to go on Facebook and watch Seinfeld. When it was raining it became apparent someone was in the store to avoid the rain so rather than kicking her out I brought my laptop down and we watched Seinfeld together. It was a nice moment. By the way sorry I never posted the new products up, I promised someone who bought a pair of shorts that I wouldn’t put them on the website for a few days so he can feel special and I try keep my word. I’ll put them up tomorrow night though. Anyway I put the new one-of-a-kind shirts in the store yesterday and within an hour the first one sold. Some dude just walked in, picked up a shirt, and gave me a $100 bill without saying anything (Pictured below). It was crazy. There are another 7 or 8 in store still. One of them is legit just a shirt of cats in hats. It’s kinda amazing. My professionalism is also at top notch as per usual. 3PM hit yesterday and it was a quiet day so I just got really drunk. So in hindsight I guess it’s exactly like my old retail jobs / experiences after all.
